On the high street we see what grocer SPAR has to offer the wine lover, whilst specialist merchants
Bibendum, Lay & Wheeler, Lea & Sandeman, Colasanti and Fine & Rare wines are all under the
spotlight. We report from a tasting called 'Fall in Love with France Again', meant to showcase quality and value, taste some of the
top wines of Portugal, Oregon and Washington, as well as considering wines from the world's biggest player, Constellation Brands.

Congratulations to Tom, who is pictured right accepting his trophy and the title of Wine Journalist of the Year from the Portuguese
Ambassador, Antonio Santana Carlos, at the Portuguese Embassy in London in February. Tom holds the title through 2010, and
will be charged with naming his "50 Great Portuguese Wines" to be revealed in February 2011.
Meanwhile, after 17 happy years at the Observer, Tim has left to join The Times for the launch of a new Thursday food and drink section.
Tim's column will run to around 950 words, to include a main 700-word story and half a dozen recommendations. Well done Tim!
